Updating your website is important for a variety of reasons. It can help increase traffic to your site, it can be great for search engine optimization, and can also be important if you're looking to expand your business. It's the first impression people see when they're seeking out information about you or your products or services. To update your site, you'll want to start by checking out what content is currently on the site. Look at blogs, press releases, and any other text that's been used to describe your company or products. If this content is outdated, you'll want to do a rewrite of it so that it accurately reflects your business or brand. To make sure that people see your new content, you should also check the current keywords and phrases that are being used for search engine optimization (SEO). You can also use your last few Google Analytics reports to see how people are searching for your site. If you are seeing a lot of traffic from search engines, you'll want to make sure that the keywords people are entering when they find your site are being used properly. Keyword Content Strategy Make sure that these keywords are being used in content, titles, and page names whenever possible. When updating your site, you'll want to be replacing old content with new SEO-optimized content. You'll also want to check the title tags. The main title tag should be kept at no longer than 70 characters, and the page name should be no more than 55 characters. Keep in mind that you want to make sure that they're keyword-rich. You can use a tool like SEOBook's SEO Toolbar to help diagnose your pages correctly. Updating your website- Design Images are also a big factor in SEO, and you'll want to make sure that all of your images have been optimized for search engines as well. Just because your site is live doesn't mean that you'll start to see visitors right away. It will take time for the search engines to use your new content. You can use Google Analytics to track how many people are currently visiting, what they are interested in, what time of day they are coming from, and other factors. You should also be tracking your site's bounce rates using Google Analytics.
